What to Expect Once Surgery is Booked

Your surgery is going ahead
Upon booking your surgery date, a $500.00 non - refundable procedure deposit is required to be paid within 7 days to secure your surgery date.
If you are a patient with private health insurance, your estimate for your hospital stay will be your co-payment agreement stated on your private health insurance policy. For uninsured patients a hospital quote estimate will be obtained and emailed to you. Please allow up to 1 week for your quotes to be finalised.
Once your surgical date is confirmed, your procedure, insurance and contact details will be provided to the anesthetist group. For patients insured through private health, they will be in contact with you 2 weeks from your surgery date. For uninsured patients a quote will be obtained and emailed to you 1 week after booking your surgery date.
You will receive an email with your admission details, including when to arrive at the hospital and the start time for your pre-operative fasting. This email will be sent 1 to 2 business days prior to your scheduled surgery date.
Before surgery
Smoking & Vaping
Chemicals in cigarettes and vapes can slow down your recovery and overall healing. You are also at risk of postoperative coughing and subsequent pain after surgery. We advise patients to cease smoking at least 2 weeks before surgery and 1 week after.
Consuming Alcohol
You should not consume alcoholic beverages 2 days pre surgery and at least 7 days post op.
Plan for lifting and activity restrictions after surgery
Lifting and exercise restrictions will be applied for the first 10 weeks postoperatively, and gentle walks until surgical follow up.
